Funeral services for Kathlene Wheeler Coxwell, 87, of Kemp were held Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jack Stafford officiating. Interment was followed in the Oak Park City Cemetery. She dies Sunday, August 6, 2017.
Mrs. Kathlene Wheeler Coxwell was born on May 7, 1930 in Emanuel County to the late Grady and Mamie Collins Wheeler. Coxwell was a homemaker and a member of the Norristown Revival Center. She loved cooking, fishing, gardening, gospel singing, and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Coxwell Sr.; three daughters, Linda Kay Coxwell, Shirley Coxwell, and Rita Fay Coxwell; and four sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda (Randy) Sue Lowery of Swainsboro; five sons, James (Betty) Coxwell Jr. of Kemp, Allen Coxwell of Soperton, Bobby (Kandis) Coxwell of Adrian, Ronald “Ronnie” Coxwell of Kemp, and Wayne (Melissa) Coxwell of Adrian; two sisters, Doris (JB) Fulmer and Bonnie (Cecil) Hutto, both of Akin, S.C.; one brother: Marvin (Doris) Wheeler of Akin, S.C.; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pallbearers were Robert Coxwell, Stephen Coxwell, Gregg Lowery, Mitchell Coxwell, John Coxwell, Ryan Coxwell, and Neal Coxwell.
Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.
