Funeral services for Joseph Jordan, 84, were held Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Mosley’s Funeral Home with Elder D.G. Mosley presiding. He died peacefully August 15, 2017, at All Is Well Personal Care. Mr. Joseph Jordan was born August 27, 1932, in Lexsy to Joe Jordan and Elizabeth Brown. He lived most of his life in Miami, Fla. He served in the Armed Forces. While in the Army, Jordan fought bravely during the Korean War. He worked as a supervisor for several years for the State of Florida before retiring back to his hometown. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and watching television, especially westerns. He was a proud father. Survivors include three daughters, Daphne Jordan of Newnan, Chasity Jordan-Ragland of Loganville, and Katrina Pendleton of Miami; three sons, William Jordan of Valdosta, Joseph Jordan of Jacksonville, Fla., and Eric Jordan of Lilburn; his wife, Anita Jordan of Valdosta; brother, Samuel Jordan of Swainsboro; sister, Willys Ann Gaines of Richmond Heights, Fla.; a great-granddaughter; and many loving nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and other friends. Pallbearers were his sons and nephews. Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
