Franklyn Alexander Barnes Sr., 41

   Funeral services for Franklyn Alexander Barnes Sr., 41, were held Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Swainsboro with Rev. Dr. Alfred Cason presiding. He departed this life August 14, 2017, after an extended illness. Mr. Franklyn Alexander Barnes Sr. was born April 26, 1976, to Gloria Miller Wadley and the late Arcelious Wadley. He attended public schools in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was recently baptized and became a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Barnes was united in holy matrimony to Tywannica Sanders Barnes in February 2009. In this union, they were blessed with five children. Barnes was a hard worker and always wanted the best for his family. He was employed at the Walmart Distribution Center of Statesboro, and he owned his own lawn care service, No Mower Worries Lawn Care. Barnes had several different talents; he was a very skilled carpenter. He often used his carpentry skills in helping others. He was also an excellent barber. He would spend some of his free time cutting the neighborhood kids’ hair. Survivors include his devoted wife, Twannica Sanders Barnes; a loving mother, Gloria Miller Wadley; two sons, Franklyn Barnes Jr. and Donte’ Barnes; three daughters, Katrina Barnes, Taniah Johnson, and Daniqua Sanders; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends from Brooklyn, North Carolina, Miami, Atlanta, and Swainsboro. Pallbearers were Dionsha Freeman, Jerome Freeman, Termell Freeman, and Jamal Ryant. Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
