Elouise Batten Edenfield, 83

   Funeral services for Elouise Batten Edenfield, 83, of Lexsy were held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 with Reverend Shannon Boula officiating. Interment followed in the Stillmore City Cemetery. She passed away Thursday morning, August 3, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness.

   Mrs. Elouise Batten Edenfield was born March 1, 1934 in Johnston, N.C., to the late James Batten and Lessi Cooper Batten. She worked with BellSouth as one of the first operators that manually connected customers with their parties. She loved cooking for her family, gardening, and was a devoted Christian. Edenfield was a member of United Fellowship Baptist Church and attended Blundale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William G. Edenfield; and several brothers and sisters.

   Survivors include her sons, Ralph Edenfield of Houston, Tex., and Michael Edenfield of Louisville, Ky.; sisters, Ann K. Arnold and Lucille Rollins, both of Virginia; sister-in-law, Emmie Edenfield of Twin City; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

   Pallbearers were Dana Strange, Dana Dismuke, Jonathan Oliff, Matt Wiggins, Brandon Williams, and John Bennett.

   Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
