Funeral services for Willis Wyman Johnson, 55, of Bartow were held Friday, June 9, 2017 in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Reverends Alan Meeks and Lamar Kersey officiating. Interment followed in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. He passed away Tuesday night, June 6, 2017 at Coliseum Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Willis Wyman Johnson was born February 10, 1962 in Swainsboro to the late Willie Rayford Johnson and Peggy Jo Chalker Johnson. He loved his family deeply, and he followed NASCAR and the National Hotrod Association. Johnson attended Williams Chapel Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Jerry Johnson and Bryant Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Johnson of Bartow; daughters, Renee Godfrey of Bartow, Gena Copeland of Wrightsville, Windy (Trent) Braswell of Wrightsville, and Gloria Johnson of Bartow; brothers, David Johnson of Oak Park, Alford Johnson of Swainsboro, Dale Johnson of Swainsboro, and Cecil Johnson of Dellwood; sisters, Glenda Johnson of Brunswick and Suzanne Lovett of Swainsboro; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers were Arthur Copeland, Vincent Johnson, Phillip Bedgood, B.J. Bedgood, David Johnson, and Dylan Sheppard.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
