Ollie Mae Dekle, 62

   Funeral services for Ollie Mae Dekle, 62, were held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Swainsboro with Bishop Bertha Jones presiding. Repast was held at the Twin City Community House. She died peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

   Mrs. Ollie Mae Dekle was born February 19, 1955 to the late Alonza and Mary Anna Jones in Jenkins County. She joined Johnson Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful member and did whatever was asked of her in service of the church. Dekle attended the Emanuel County school system and was employed for many years as a cook at Twin View Health Care Center in Twin City. She married Sonny Dekle, a union that lasted 46 years.

   Survivors include her husband; four children, Maria of Syracuse, N.Y., Ana of Twin City, Jerome of San Diego, Calif., and Chase of Twin City; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Sarah Chance, Malinda Kelly, and Mary Alice Jones, all of Brunswick, and Rhonda Jones of Stillmore; six brothers, Charlie Jones of Savannah, Alexander Cross and J.C. Jones, both of Saint Petersburg, Fla. Grady Jones of Swainsboro, and Horace Jones and Oscar Jones, both of Brunswick; one brother-in-law; two aunts; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

   Pallbearers were Horace Jones, Oscar Brown, Grady Jones, Charlie Jones, Fred McCroy, and Willie Dekle. Honorary pallbearers were Oscar L. Jones, Paul Alston, Wayne Raymond, Javon Morton, Michael Dekle, and Bernard Carlyle.

   Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
