Jessie Lee “Bay” Tarver, 66

Funeral services for Jessie Lee “Bay” Tarver, 66, of Twin City were held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. at God’s Holy Tabernacle for All People Outreach Ministries with Pastor Amos Handsom Jr. presiding. Interment was held at Parrish Grove Baptist Church, and repast was held at Twin City Community House. He died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Community Hospice House in Vidalia.

Mr. Jessie Lee “Bay” Tarver was born in Garfield on April 12, 1950 to the late Essie Mae Tarver and Holice Tarver Sr. A retired farm worker, he was preceded in death by his mother, Essie Mae Tarver; father, Holice Tarver Sr.; three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Betty Ann Tarver of Twin City; four sons, Frank Smiley and Christopher Tarver, both of Swainsboro, Jessie Lee Tarver of Garfield, and Christopher Woods of Hinesville; five daughters, Jacqueline Smiley of Swainsboro, Denise Tarver of Columbus, Lois Buffalo of Garfield, Jessica Woods of Wadley, and Justene Woods of Waynesboro; one sister, Johnnie Mae Brown of Twin City; six brothers, Holice Tarver Jr. of Sylvania, Charlie Tarver of Garfield, Bobby Tarver of Twin City, Leroy Tarver of Tifton, Marvin Tarver of Vero Beach, Fla., and Billy Tarver of Jesup; a beloved mother-in-law; 40 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers were Donald Boatwright, Dasuwaun Coleman, Bobby McNear, James Mincey, Raheem Tarver, and Frank McNear.

Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
