EGSC’s VPAA finalists to interview on campus

East Georgia State College’s search process to find a successor to Dr. Tim Goodman, the longest-serving current Vice President of Academic Affairs in the University System of Georgia, is nearing completion. After an exhaustive national search, the three finalists for the position will be visiting the Swainsboro campus in the next few weeks as part of the interview process.

“We have been working diligently and with great care to complete this vital search process,” said Dr. Lee Cheek, search committee chair. “On behalf of the search committee, I am excited to announce we are hosting visits by our finalists for the position in the next few weeks.”

As announced to the College community, the finalists for the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs at East Georgia State College are:

Dr. Deborah Vess, who was most recently Vice President for Academic Affairs at Amarillo College in Amarillo, Tex.
Her interview date is March 29, 2017.

Dr. Adam Wyatt, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Augusta University.
He will interview on March 30, 2017.

Dr. Jason Goodner, Executive Director of Assessment and Accreditation at Albany State University, and former Vice President for Academic Affairs at Andrew College. His interview date is April 6, 2017.

The Search Committee, comprised of key representative members of the EGSC community, include Dr. Lee Cheek (chair), Caroline Joyner, Dr. Dana Nevil, Austin Davis (SGA President), Elizabeth Gilmer, Professor Kim Carr, Kristin Waters, Mary Smith, Dean of Humanities Dr. Carmine Palumbo and Dr. Walt Mason.
