Martha Mincey Minton, 76

Funeral services for Martha Mincey Minton, 76, of Uvalda were held Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Cedar Crossing Baptist Church with Pastor Reece Mincey and Elder Mike Gray officiating. Burial followed at Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery. She died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Martha Mincey Minton was a native of Montgomery County and lived there for most of her life. She was a 1958 graduate of Montgomery County High School, and she worked at various manufacturing companies in the area. She eventually found her calling in the pharmacy and medical field, working with Dr. W. M. Moses and the Uvalda Drug Store. Minton was a faithful member of Cedar Crossing Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Minton; parents, Darwin Mincey and Ella Belle Hendrix Mincey; and a brother, Cessel Mincey in 1998.

Survivors include one brother, Bill Henry (Wanda) Mincey, and one sister, Judy Mincey (Preston) Foskey, all of Uvalda; sister-in-law, Elaine Mincey (Joe) Arnold of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Lee Foskey, Byron Mincey, Roger Anderson, Ken Garrett, Roy Hitchcock, Jim Paul Barnes, Stacy Martin, Robbie Fowler, and Larry Goff.

Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.
