Funeral services for Carolyn Hayes Wilson, 82, of Adrian were held Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Hal Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Carolyn Hayes Wilson was born on December 19, 1934 to the late Homer J. and Annie Lee Shephard Hayes. She retired from Emanuel County Hospital after many years of nursing and was a member of the Eastern Star Women’s Auxiliary. She loved fishing, reading, cross stitching, and spending time with her family. Wilson was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth “Bo Pete” Wilson; two daughters, Linda Bunn and Evonne Sconyers; and one sister, Sybil Patterson.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki (William) Goodson of Avera; three grandchildren, Derek (Jessie) Sconyers of Norristown, Jennifer Wilson of Statesboro, and Kenneth W. Bunn of Augusta; three sisters, Alice Hall of Swainsboro, Betty Pelt of Alabama, and Ann (Donald) Parker of Indiana; and nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pallbearers were Jerry Hall, Gene Hall, Aaron Hall, Joe Kersey, Victor Toves, and Junior Plowman.
Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
