Pearl Lee Chance, 100

   Funeral services for Pearl Lee Chance, 100, of Emanuel County were held Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Robert’s Grove Church in Canoochee with Rev. Kenneth Brown serving as the eulogist. Interment was held in the Chance Family Cemetery, and repast was held at Robert’s Grove Church. She died January 22, 2017.

   Mrs. Pearl Lee Chance was born September 13, 1916 in Emanuel County to the late Jim Corley and Mamie Williams Corley. Chance joined Willow Spring Baptist Church at an early age and became a member of Robert’s Grove A.M.E. Church after marriage. She received her education in Emanuel County before marrying. Thereafter, she became a homemaker and a farmer. She married the love of her life, the late Sol Chance. Unto this union, five children were born: Horace, Sol Jr. Bobby, Juanita and Delois.

   Survivors include one daughter, Delois Jenkins of Twin City; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

   Pallbearers were nephews and friends of the family.

   Mosley’s Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
