Funeral services for Jerry A. Adams, 71, of Swainsboro were held Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. Interment was held at Sand Hill Cemetery. He died Friday, July 8, 2016 at Pruitt Health Hospice in Swainsboro.
Mr. Jerry A. Adams was born in Glenwood, Wheeler County. He was a self-employed truck driver and a Baptist. Adams was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Henry Adams; his parents, A. L. and Martha Poole Adams; sister, Judy Adams; and two brothers, Lonnie Adams and Randall Adams.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen Hood (Roy) and Vickie Williams (Richard), both of Swainsboro, and Beth Sapp of Dublin; three sons, Bobby Edenfield and Milton Edenfield, both of Swainsboro, and Vance Adams (Daphine) of Kite; one sister, JoAnn Truitt of Mt.Vernon; two brothers, Rudy Adams (Sherry) of Tifton, and Billy Adams of Mt. Vernon; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Michael Edenfield, Jerry Edenfield, Chris Tapley, Seth Hutcheson, Kelly Thigpen and Chad Thigpen. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
