Audrey Elaine KnowltonMemorial services for Audrey Elaine Knowlton, 89, of Wrightsville will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Leigh officiating. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church on Saturday, July 30, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the time of service. She died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.

Mrs. Audrey Elaine Knowlton was born September 19, 1926, in Meridian, Miss. to the late George Sanford and Catherine Lorene Jackson. She retired from Citizens Bank of Swainsboro after many years of being a bank teller. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Swainsboro, loved arts and crafts, making ornaments, embroidering, playing the organ, and singing in the church choir. Knowlton was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Moorman.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Knowlton of Wrightsville; two daughters, Kelly (Clarence) Young  of Bluffton, S.C. and Lela Decker of Penns Grove, N.J.; one sister, Beverly Peacock; two grandchildren, Amber Young and Trevor (Leslie) Young; three granddogs, Merlyn, Buster and Cooper; two great-grandchildren, Liana Young and Caeson Young; and nieces, nephews and extended family.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the First Baptist Church choir and Trailblazers Sunday School class.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 or to the charity of your choice.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
