Funeral services for Samuel “Rusty” Pritchard Jr., 52, of Lexsy will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Nunez Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Harrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Youmans Cemetery near Lexsy. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 31 at the funeral home from 6 – 8 p.m. He died Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Emanuel Medical Center.
Mr. Samuel “Rusty” Pritchard Jr. was born December 9, 1963 in Metter. He was a 1981 graduate of Swainsboro High School and was employed by Stanley Farms of Lyons. He was a farmer by nature and loved the land. His hobbies included gardening, woodworking and mullet fishing. Spending time on the river with family and friends brought him the greatest pleasure. He was a past member of the Young Farmers Association and the Georgia Young Farmers State Committee. He was a member of Nunez Baptist Church, and he was preceded in death by his father, Walter Frank McCullough.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Bennett Pritchard of Lexsy; two sons, Beau Pritchard of Nunez and Brock Pritchard of Lexsy; his mother, Bernice Brown McCullough of Nunez; two sisters, Christy Womack (Mike) of Nunez and Cherie Hooks (Ricky) of Lexsy; two brothers, Marty Pritchard (Chris) of Wrightsville and Shannon McCullough (Stephanie) of Nunez; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Pallbearers are Tracy Hooks, Brad Hooks, Paul Beasley, Jeffery Fennell, Todd Hooks, Matt Snellgrove, Marc Snellgrove and Jamey Watson.
Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
