Jay DeBoo, 34

Funeral services for Jay DeBoo, 34, of Wrightsville were held in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2016 with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Interment followed in the Kite City Cemetery. He died Thursday, May 26, 2016 from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.
Mr. Jay DeBoo was born March 5, 1982 in Swainsboro. He went to work in law enforcement right out of high school, and at the age of 26, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He did two tours in Afghanistan. After returning home, he went to work for the United States Postal Service in Tennille, where he was employed as a mail carrier. DeBoo was very patriotic; he loved his country and the men and woman who served it. He loved his grandmother and family. He was of the Baptist Faith. DeBoo was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul Peebles.
Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Peebles (Steve Morales) of Kite; brother, Joseph (Jada) DeBoo of Swainsboro; maternal grandmother, Margaret Peebles of Kite; great-uncle, James Bouttier of Swainsboro; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Joey Drew, Lucas Johnson, Rodney Marcus, Kelly Price, Tarique Robinson, Chris Mimbs, Brian Lindsey, and Eric Kersey.
Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of the arrangements.
