Bobby Eugene Williams, 82

Funeral services for Bobby Eugene Williams, 82, of Kite were held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Meeks officiating. Interment followed in the Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. He died Wednesday, May 25, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Bobby Eugene Williams was born November 14, 1933 to the late Samuel Ashley and Velma Scott Williams in Kite, Johnson County. He retired from Civil Service after 35 years and served in the U.S. Army National Guard’s 878th Engineering Battalion with retiring rank of WO4. Williams was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was a member of Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Keyton; brother, Ralph Williams; and pet hog, Bobo.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Carolyn Garnto Williams of Kite; one daughter, Sondra Fortner (Danny) of Kite; one son, Ronald Williams (Dianne) of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Lisa Williams, Erin O’Meara Pettis (Chris), Jason Williams (Leslie) and Kyle Loggins (Sarah); and great-grandchildren, William Bodie Pettis, Liam Pettis, Bella Grace Williams and Braxton Loggins.

Pallbearers were Lynn Brantley, Jimmy Ivey, Joel Scott, Nathan Garnto, Teddy Reese and Skippy Attaway. Honorary pallbearers were the local US Army National Guard.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
