Funeral services for Charles Wendal Riner, 92, of Ellabell and former resident of Emanuel County, will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral at 2 p.m.He died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Memorial Health in Savannah.

Mr. Charles Wendal Riner was born in Emanuel County. He worked as a heavy machine operator in a commercial sand plant operation. Riner was a member of Twin City First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Bell Edenfield Riner, and his daughters, Judy Kay and Jeanne McBride.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Deborah E. Perdue (Timothy) and Beverly Kaye Pickard; four great-grandchildren, Logan Calandea Dewees (Dylan), Jaden Perdue, Adason Perdue and Chrystor Pickard (Katie); one great-great-grandchild, Braxton Dewees; three brothers, Kendal Riner, Jack Riner and Rex Riner; and two sisters, Montine Neal and Betty Ann Link.

Tomlinson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
