The office will be closed Friday, January 1 and will reopen Monday, January 4.


Oak Park City Council meeting re-scheduled

   The City of Oak Park has re-scheduled its regular monthly meeting from January 4 to January 11. The business meeting will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the Council meeting at 7 p.m.

South Main Street crash sends one to hospital on Christmas Eve

A crash in front of McDonald’s on South Main Street injured the operator of one vehicle. The crash occurred on Thursday, Dec. 24 at 12:20 p.m. Emanuel EMS transported the patient to Emanuel Medical Center. Responding to the scene were Swainsboro Fire and Police Departments, along with Emanuel EMS.


Smith Grove Missionary Baptist to hold Emancipation Proclamation Program

   On January 1, 2015 at 11 a.m., Smith Grove Missionary Baptist Church will hold an Emancipation Proclamation program. The guest speaker for the program will be Sister Valorie Watkins. Reverend Wilbert Kennedy is the pastor. The public is invited to attend.
