City of Swainsboro Trick-or-Treat

The City of Swainsboro will hold trick-or-treating tonight, Oct. 31. Suggested hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Please have fun, but be sure to drive carefully and speak with children about how to be safe on Halloween!

Reminder: R&F Manufacturing Fall Festival today

R&F Manufacturing will sponsor a fall festival tonight from 6 – 8 p.m. in the parking lot at 308 Glenwood Rd. The event will be free to all children in the community.

A truck with a trailer attached was dragging a piece of metal which caused a small brush fire on Highway 80 between Swainsboro and Norristown. Please use caution in this area.

Swainsboro High School Future Business Leaders of America will hold a silent auction fundraiser tonight. Viewing and bidding of items will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s Media Center. ECI softball picks up win at Elite 8

The ECI Lady Bulldogs softball team lost their first game in the Elite 8 yesterday against Trion 5 to 4. This morning, the Lady Dawgs picked up their first win in Columbus, defeating Schley County 10 to 2. The Dogs will be back in action against Wilcox County at 1 p.m.


Sheriff warns of scammers preying on Emanuel County citizens

Since the beginning of the week, the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office has received several reports of citizens being contacted by scammers claiming to be from the Publisher’s Clearing House and requesting that money be wired or brought to them in order to accept a larger cash prize.
