Johnson obit   Funeral services for Gwendolyn Johnson, 61, were held Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 3 p.m. in Willow Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Davis, Pastor, officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. She died April 12, 2015 at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness.

   Mrs. Johnson was a native of Emanuel County and was born September 5, 1953. She attended the Emanuel County School System and graduated in 1972. She was employed by Creston Argo Mills for 24 years. She was employed at AYP for a number of years, after which she was employed by Trane in Vidalia for 11 years. She was a member of the Willow Spring Baptist Church in Twin City and was a faithful member and hard church worker. She sang in the choir for a number of years and was president of the Usher Board. She was a member of the Jethro Council and Willow Spring Baptist Church Burial Society.

   Survivors include two sons, Tyrone Johnson of Swainsboro and Nathaniel Johnson of Seattle, Wash.; one sister, LueEllen Johnson of Twin City; two aunts; one uncle; a devoted cousin; six grandchildren and a host of other cousins, nephews, other relatives and friends.

   Pallbearers were Roy Sanders, Jr., Dennis Coney, Rodney Cheeks, Christopher Warner, Johnny Adams and Johnny Dawson.

   Mosley’s Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
