Funeral services for Arlie Dawson Kersey, 88, of Kite will be held Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Sam Bowen and Elder Calvin Watkins officiating. Interment will be in the Kersey Family Cemetery in Kite. He died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014.
Mr. Kersey was born in Kite, was a member and deacon of Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church, carpenter and farmer.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lawrenscene Copeland; son, Larry Gladin; parents, Jimmy D. and Bessie Copeland Kersey; sisters, Louise Kersey, Grace Powell and Lizzie Lee Jones; brothers, William Kersey, Jack Kersey and Willard Kersey; and great-grandson, Collen Ray Durden.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Georgia Mae McKenzie Kersey of Kite; one daughter, Cassandra Hall (Elmer) of Kite; two sons, John Gladin (Janice) of Ludowici and Keith Gladin of Swainsboro; eight grandchildren, Larry S. Gladin, Gregory Gladin, Nicholas Gladin, Casey Hall, Jason Hall, Haley Hall Durden, Jonathan Gladin and Christopher Gladin; 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Jason Hall, Casey Hall, Ronald Walker, Jamey Walker, Jed Kersey and Ski Donwanski.
Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors has charge of arrangements.
