Genelle Fordham Sconyers, 95

 Funeral services for Genelle Fordham Sconyers, 95, of Twin City were held Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Mike Newman officiating. interment was in the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Kurt Bacon and Elder Mickey Durden officiating. She died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at the Candler County Hospital in Metter.

   Mrs. Sconyers was born in Metter and lived most of her life in Twin City. She was a homemaker, devoted to her family and loved reading and flower gardening. She was a member of the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church for 64 years and was preceded in death by her husband, David Dunford Sconyers; parents, Ira E. Sr. and Mamie Dominy Fordham; sister, Latrelle Fordham; brothers, Elmer Fordham, Russell Fordham, I. E. Fordham Jr. and Ruey Fordham; grandchildren, David “Dave” Eugene Sconyers II and Steven Parrish. 

   Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Gross (J.W.) of Twin City; two sons, David Sconyers (Ann) of Columbus and Carl Sconyers (Connie) of Twin City; seven grandchildren, J. Kendall Gross (Sarah), Alan Gross, Tracie Schoenherr (Jerry), Glynis Sconyers, Brooke Carver (Larry), Carla Riner (Erik) and Ryan Sconyers (Amy); 12 great-grandchildren and extended family; loving caregivers, Mary Sue Archie and Evanell Brown.

   Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund or Church Fund, P O Box 29, Twin City, GA 30471.

   Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors had charge of arrangements.
