4-H Foundation meeting rescheduled

 The 64th annual joint meeting of the Emanuel County 4-H Club Foundation and the 4-H Volunteer Leaders Council has been rescheduled for Monday Evening February 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the Varner 4-H Center. The previously scheduled date was cancelled due to severe weather in the area. All members are invited to attend.

   Arch Smith, Georgia State 4-H Leader will be the guest speaker for the meeting. Smith has been Assistant State 4-H Leader for many years and  has coordinated  facility upgrades at all four of Georgia’s 4-H Camps and also directed the Georgia 4-H Foundation.

   Items on the program will include annual business of the Foundation which includes the Secretaries report, a Treasurer’s report, President’s report and the election of officers for 2014. New and Old Business will also be conducted. 

   A highlight of the program will be the annual awards program. Each year presentations are made honoring the Man and Woman of the Year and induction of new members into the 4-H Hall of Fame. 4-H Hall of Fame awards include the W.A. Sutton Award, the Distinguished 4-H Alumni Award, the 4-H Club Appreciation Award and the Honor Hall of Recognition Award. 

   A delicious grilled chicken meal will be served prior to the program. 

   Current officers of the Emanuel County 4-H Foundation are: Mark Crosby, President; Kathy Palmer, Vice-President; Laure Moore, Secretary; and Dr. Erma Jenkins, Treasurer. 

   Officers of the Emanuel County 4-H Volunteer Leaders Council are: Melanie Johnson, President; Shari Watt, Vice-President; Donna Scott, Secretary; and Connie Page, Treasurer. Caitlyn Coleman is the President of the 4-H County Council.
