Lady Eagles win over St. Andrews

The Lady Eagles of David Emanuel Academy claimed a 42-16 win over St. Andrews School before the home fans in Stillmore on December 19. Kristan Rigdon led the way with 16 points, followed by Jessica Brett with nine, Lacey Parham with six, Kirsten Lamm with five, Emma Wells with four and Suzanne Durden with two.

   DEA also earned a win in the Coaches versus Cancer tournament, hosted by Robert Toombs, by defeating Memorial Day School of Savannah 32-26. Kristan Rigdon scored 18 points in that one, while Emma Wells tossed in six, Kirsten Lamm scored three, Regan Brannen and Suzanne Durden each netted two and Jessica Brett added one. 

   Back on December 10, the Lady Eagles rolled past Coastal Home School 44-21 as Kristan Rigdon poured in 28 points. Emma Wells with four, Kirsten Lamm and Jessica Brett with three each, and Regan Brannen, Suzanne Durden and Lacey Parham with two each all scored in that win for DEA. 

   In a game played as part of the Coaches versus Cancer tournament, the Lady Eagles lost to Appling Christian by a score of 47-30 on Friday, December 13. Kristan Rigdon scored ten points, Jessica Brett netted nine, Kirsten Lamm scored four, Regan Brannen tossed in three and Millie Scott and Lacey Parham each had two points for DEA.

   The final game of the 2013 part of the schedule was a 58-38 loss to 12-0 Bulloch Academy in Stillmore on December 20. Jessica Brett and Kristan Rigdon each had 14 points for the Lady Eagles, 4-6 overall, followed by Emma Wells with five, Kirsten Lamm with three, and Lacey Parham with two. 

   The Lady Eagles will return to action this Saturday as they travel to Waynesboro to play Edmund Burke Academy in a 4:30 start. On Tuesday, January 7, the DEA girls will host Thomas Jefferson Academy with tipoff set for 6:30.
