    Jared Drake killed his first deer with his Remington 700 .243 on Sunday morning, October 27 while hunting with his daddy at the Boggy Possum hunting club. He shot this six-point buck and it went straight down while he was shaking.

       Drake said, “I’m a man now Daddy!”

       His parents replied, “MeMe would be proud of her Big Boy.”

    Justin Drake killed this spike buck with his Colt AR 15 .223 on Sunday afternoon, October 27 while hunting with his daddy. He shot this buck in the neck, so the deer went straight down, while hunting at the Boggy Possum hunting club. Drake is the 9-year-old son of Billy Joe and Donna Drake of Swainsboro.

    On Tuesday, October 29, East Georgia State College held its 3rd Annual “Save 2nd Base” Students vs. Staff and Faculty charity softball game to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness.     Twelve Swainsboro Kiwanians attended the Georgia District of Kiwanis Fall Training that was held on October 26, 2013 at Wesleyan College in Macon.     Funeral services for Mamie Daniel Moore Terwilliger, 87, were held at Nunez Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 with Reverends Mark Sweat and Lee Gaston officiating. Burial was in the Moore Cemetery near Swainsboro with Rev. Scott Brenton officiating. She died Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro.
