The Swainsboro Middle School Travel Club recently traveled to New York City. The group visited Central Park, Times Square, the Metropolitan Museum of Arts, Radio City Music Hall, Sony Science Museum, and Madame Trousseau’s Wax Museum. Students learned to use the subway system, the city maps, and other modes of transportation. The club is sponsored by Lisa Sammons, 8th grade English/Language Arts Teacher. Students traveling included Summer Ellington, Hunter Smith, Mickey Seward, and Kent Womack. Chaperones were Cheryl Ellington, Chandra Hooks, and Jeff Sammons.

Earlier in the year, 22 students enjoyed a weekend trip to Stone Mountain’s Snow Mountain.  Students enjoyed taking the tram to the top of the mountain, snow tubing, and other winter activities.
