Youth Basketball registration to be held

   Swainsboro-Emanuel County Parks and Recreation Department will hold registration for youth basketball November 13-16 at the Recreation Department, 632 McLeod Bridge Road, Swainsboro. Registration hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

   Youth basketball is for girls and boys, ages 7-12. Participants must be 7 years old before Jan. 1, 2013, and cannot turn 13 before Jan. 1, 2013. First time participants must bring a birth certificate. Registration fee is $25. … Read More

   The 12th edition of the Turkey 100 is vastly approaching.  This year Mud Bogging Dixie Style will be added to the weekend’s program.

  Big plays made the difference. Homestanding Curtis Baptist made a few more than did David Emanuel Academy, and the Crusaders came away with a 46-28 win at Lions Memorial Field last Saturday night in North Augusta, S.C.

       The Swainsboro Tigers couldn’t overcome a poor 1st half, losing on homecoming to Wilcox County by a score of 40-24. This was the Tigers’ fourth consecutive defeat, albeit against their fourth straight game against top 10 teams.
