With only two points races left and racing season winding down, racing action at Swainsboro Raceway still kept the adrenaline pumping. In the Aaron’s Crate Late Model division, Ben Faircloth picked up the fastest qualifying time over Blake Smith. As the green dropped, Faircloth held onto that inside line, bringing Pearson Lee Williams along in second. Lap one, Smith, stuck on the outside, brought the first caution out in turn four. By lap two, John Henderson, starting in the fifth position, moved into third. Halfway, making his way toward the top five after qualifying eighth, Robert Diekemper took a hard turn to the outer pit area, ending his night with mechanical problems. With five laps to go, Jordy Nipper began to battle Pearson Lee Williams for the second position. Ben Faircloth took nearly a three second win over Pearson Lee Williams, holding off Jordy Nipper in third. After getting sideways off turn four with a great save, John Henderson held onto the fourth position and Jeremy Faircloth fifth.

Running for $400 to win, sixteen Adams Construction Road Warrior drivers took the green, trying to make it to Victory Lane. After a few cautions and going single file, Alf Wimberly led lap one over Jason Kight. Lap three was a three wide battle for the lead as TJ Purvis joined the mix. Coming off turn four, the top three rode side by side. Jason Kight took over the lead. With five laps to go, Purvis moved inside Wimberly to continue the battle for second. As Jason Kight took the checkered and picked up his second win in a row, Purvis jacked Wimberly a little sideways coming off four, allowing Tyler Holt to join the three car battle for third to the finish. Alf Wimberly held on to take second place by inches, TJ Purvis third, Tyler Holt fourth, and Just Hart fifth.

In the Sunoco Super Street division, Roger McKenzie held off Johnnie Tucker, Jr. to pick up his second win of the season in this division. Closing out the top five were Dustin Watkins in third, Josh Odom fourth, and Danny Scarboro fifth.

Brent Herndon took the lead with JJ Williams in second and Jared Jones third in the Daniels Chevrolet Pure Stock division. With five laps to go, Alan Wilkerson and Terry Cox battled down to the finish for the fourth position. Brent Herndon took the checkered, JJ Williams second, Jared Jones third, Alan Wilkerson fourth, and Terry Cox fifth.

Points leader Tim Wilkerson took the lead in the Love’s Seafood Mini Stock division. Lap one, Joey Schoen moved to the inside of Roger McKenzie to take over the second position. Quickly on lap two, Schoen began working both inside and outside lanes to pass Wilkerson. As the front two cars drove side by side for three laps, Joey Schoen took the lead with five laps to go. As the white flag fell, Roger McKenzie moved to the inside of Tim Wilkerson to take over second off turn two. Joey Schoen picked up another win, Roger McKenzie second, Tim Wilkerson third, Brad McKenzie fourth, and Shawn Sealey fifth.

Ending the night preparing for next Saturday $1000 to win, Kevin O’Brien took the checkered nearly four seconds over Rod Morris in the Extreme Concrete 440 division. Running in second with two laps to go, John Whisnant, ten points behind points leader Kevin Bird, was forced to pit with right front flat. Fortunate for Whisnant, two cautions without completing a lap allowed him to join the field without losing a lap. Justin Thompson finished in the third position, Wade Ellington fourth, and rookie Mollie Boyd grabbed her first top five finish. Going into next Saturday’s $1000 to win, only eight points separate Kevin Bird and John Whisnant from being crowned the first ever Extreme Concrete 440 Points Champion.
