Funeral services for Rosa Lee Reid, 86, were held Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. in New Life Baptist Church in Swainsboro with Pastor Art McClain presiding. Interment followed at Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died August 13, 2012 at Emanuel Medical Center.
Mrs. Reid was born in Jacksonville, Fla. She was educated in the public school system of Emanuel County and was a long time member of Phillips Chapel Holiness Church. She worked at EMCO Service of Emanuel County for 20 years before retiring, then went on to open her home as a daycare for nine years. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Janie Andrews; her husband, John S. Reid; three brothers, Isiah Andrews, Albert Andrews and Nuburn Andrews; two sisters, Inez Gillis and Flora McMillan; and three sons, Jarrell Reid, Merdia Drummer, Jr., and Llewellyn Reid.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlene Drummer; one son, Aurelious Reid; one sister, Emma L. Reynolds of Macon; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchlidren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Damien Culbreth, Raja Andrews, Terrance Andrews, Randolph Pierce, Terri Rolison and Jessie Holmes.
Mosley’s Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
