Elder Ruby Harden, 93

   Funeral services for Elder Ruby Harden, 93, were held Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Auditorium with Bishop Bertha Jones and Bishop Theodore N. Brown, President General C.L.G. presiding. She died August 19, 2012.

   Elder Harden was born October 10, 1918 to the late Bannie Samples and Artis King. After the passing of her mother, she was accepted into the family of Elijah and Hattie Smith. She attended public school and married the late Willie Lee Harden. The couple had twelve children. She served faithfully in many auxiliaries at Williams Grove Holiness Church. She received her ministerial license and ordination in May of 1992 and was appointed pastor in April 1993, where she served until September 2006. She was very involved in the ministry and served in several positions, and participated in the radio ministry until 2011. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Wayne Harden and Linda D.H. Moorman.

   Survivors include four daughters, Estella McGlawn of Hephzibah, Carolyn E. Stephens, Wylene Woods and Carnita Brown, all of Swainsboro; six sons, James C. Harden of Hampton, Va., Elijah W. Harden, Melven Harden, Willie Lee Harden, Jr., Matthew Harden and Anthony R. Harden of Swainsboro; one sister, Wilhemina Dunbar of Chicago, Ill.; 56 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

   Pallbearers were Barnard Dukes, Brian Brown, Tyrone Harden, Gary Woods, Nicholas Brown, and Dwayne Woods. Honorary pallbearers were The Four Corners.

   Mosley’s Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
