Mrs. Emily Jones turns 100

Mrs. Emily Jones of Twin City celebrated her 100th birthday Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Proctor Pond House, and celebrated on Tuesday, March 20 at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home. She turned 100 on March 20.
The Saturday fish fry was hosted by James and Della Proctor of Twin City and Charleston, S.C.
Mrs. Emily is a resident of the Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home and formerly of Twin City for her entire life except a short time in Charleston, S.C. Mrs. Emily has a wealth of friends in and around the Twin City area.
Joining the celebration at the Proctor Pond House was Mrs. Jones’ daughter Charlotta and her husband, Bobby Brown, of Valrico, Fla. Attendees were nephew Julian and his wife Paulette Durden of Twin City and Riverdale, grandson, Buddy Brown of Vero Beach, Fla.; Dot Copeland Roe and Paula Proctor of Twin City Evangalist and Ralph and Mazie Caudill of Louisville, Ky.
Mrs. Emily ended the celebration with pictures, hugs and kisses for all who were there.
At the party at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home, Mrs. Emily was surrounded by family and friends, including her daughter, Carlotta Brown of Florida. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner of Brunswick stew with numerous side dishes and homemade desserts. A beautifully-decorated cake, adorned with candles, was presented to Mrs. Emily for the tradition of blowing out the candles.
After the party, Mrs. Emily stated, “Thanks for the party, now put me to bed.”
