Alex Ogle of Twin City has been awarded the Rountree Scholarship

to East Georgia College. She will begin full time at EGC in the

fall. Ogle has completed six courses at East Georgia as a dual

enrolled student through the ACCEL program while completing high

school.

The Rountree Scholarship is awarded on the basis of outstanding

academic achievement and leadership accomplishments. The Rountree

Scholarship Endowment was created to honor the memory of Ivy and

Madeline Quillian Rountree.

Ogle, a graduate of Swainsboro High School, is the daughter of

Vicki and Hank Ogle of Twin City. She plans to pursue a degree in

biology.

While at SHS, Ogle served as Georgia State President, Georgia

State Parliamentarian, Region 4 Secretary, Region 4 Conference

Assistant, SHS Reporter, and SHS Vice President of Future Business

Leaders of America (FBLA). Her honors while at SHS include

completion of the FBLA Business Achievement Awards program, Who’s

Who in Georgia FBLA, and President’s Service Award.

Ogle volunteers in her church nursery, Relay for Life and

Special Olympics, and is a member of the Citizens Bank Student

Advisory Board.

“Through East Georgia’s ACCEL program, I have already enjoyed

spending time on campus at EGC and I cannot imagine myself anywhere

but East Georgia College. After graduating from EGC, I know I will

succeed anywhere I choose to go,” commented Alex Ogle.
