       On June 30, the summer readers at Franklin Memorial Library

    created peacock fans as part of their “One World, Many Stories”

    exploration. Pictured are the creative genius of Asianiah Brown,

       MSgt. Johnathan B. Gunn retired from the Air Force on July 9,

    2011 after 33 years of service. He enlisted on January 15, 1978 and

    reported to Lackland AFB in Texas for Basic Military Training.

       Upon graduation from Basic Training, he attended Aircraft

    Environmental Specialist training at Chanute AFB. After graduating

    from technical school, he reported to the 3211th Field Maintenance

    Squadron at Eglin AFB in Florida.

       The Lester Grove Missionary Baptist Church held a Safety Fair on

    July 16, 2011. The children learned about fire safety, highway

    safety and health and social issues. Speakers were Natalie Jordan,

    LPN; Chief David Hannah – Coordinator and Lt. Paul B. Jordan –

    Assistant Coordinator of East Central Traffic Network for the

       Alex Ogle of Twin City has been awarded the Rountree Scholarship

    to East Georgia College. She will begin full time at EGC in the

    fall. Ogle has completed six courses at East Georgia as a dual

    enrolled student through the ACCEL program while completing high

    school.

       The Rountree Scholarship is awarded on the basis of outstanding

    academic achievement and leadership accomplishments. The Rountree

       On Thursday, July 14, Kiddie Kampus Learning Center held

    graduation for their Class of 2011. The children wore black and

    gold caps and gowns. They had nine students graduate from Kenyatta

    Daughtry’s class who will be entering into Swainsboro Primary

    School for the 2011-2012 school year. They were Zion Carter, Mylai
