       Melissa Kitchens was recently announced as winner of the 1st

    Annual Easter Extravaganza Pound Cake Contest in Emanuel County.

    She received a trophy and certificate in recognition of her

    accomplishment.

       Franklin Memorial Library will conduct a landscape painting

    workshop on Wednesday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring your

    lunch. The Friends of the Library will provide drinks and snacks.

    All workshop materials will be provided through a grant from the

    Mill Creek Foundation.

       Participants will be working with acrylics on canvas. They will

       Emanuel County Institute will hold a British Soccer Camp July

    11-15 at the Swainsboro/Emanuel County Recreation Department. The

    camp, which is done through Challenger Sports, teaches soccer

    skills within the framework of character development based on

    respect, responsibility, integrity, leadership and

    sportsmanship.
