BOE holds workshop

Numerous personnel and fund-raising requests were handled by the Emanuel County Board of Education at a workshop session held Monday night at the board office.
The board approved the final employment of Adrienne D. Love, teacher at Swainsboro High School, and the resignation of Erica White, teacher at Swainsboro Elementary School, pending fingerprinting results.
The board approved the final employment of the following classified personnel pending finger-printing results: Anna Bailey, health and pregnant women coordinator, Early Head Start; Marilyn Armstrong, Special Education Bus Monitor/substitute food service worker, system-wide; Shelinda Daniels and Karla L. Rheney, substitute food service workers, system-wide; Carlos Alicea, Custode (Pina) Chrysosferidis, Gary Curry, Suzanne P. Hutchinson, Elizabeth Lawson, Joyce E. Lawson, Katrina Shadix, Christy M. Womack, Tanginika Woods, Gloria Wright, system-wide substitute teachers; and Walter H. Scott, substitute teacher/hospital homebound.
The board approved the employment of the following classified personnel pending fingerprinting results: James Kenneth Green and Linda Peebles Renfroe, substitute teachers, system-wide; Wendy Beach and Alpha Griner, substitute food service workers.
The board also approved the transfer of Wylodean Turner, food service worker at Swainsboro High School, to Swainsboro Primary School.
The board also approved the following fund-raisers:
• Adrian School of Performing Arts: Dance advertisements and t-shirt sales.
• Swainsboro High School Boys Basketball: Community Basketball Game
• Swainsboro Middle School: school dance, Yankee Candle Sales, beef jerky, cheesecake, cookie dough sales, Coke sale, concession stand at football games.
