If you missed YOUTH EXPLOSION 2009, don’t worry! YOUTH EXPLOSION 2010 is fast approaching!
Don’t know what this is about? Here is a little bit about this amazing night.
Pastor Jim Soles of New Beulah UMC approached Pastor Randall Smith with the idea of having an area wide youth rally. In the fall of 2007, Pastor Randall and the Methodist Youth Fellowship Group of Twin City UMC decided to bring the idea to life. The mission was to create an event that would make a lasting impact on the youth of our community.
The event hoped to give young people the availability to worship Jesus Christ and the opportunity to understand what a positive difference He can make in their lives, all while having fun.
Their efforts were successful and this September will mark the 4th year that this event has taken place in Twin City. On the eve of this 4th anniversary, there is much anticipation and excitement in the air.
During the last two years, those attending the rally have had the opportunity to praise and worship with the JJ Weeks band, and experience the excitement of Ignite Martial Arts. The JJ Weeks band is a well known Christian band from Macon, GA. Ignite Martial Arts is a Tae Kwon Do school, also based in Macon, whose focus is to share the solid Word of Jesus Christ through the exciting gift of Martial Arts. Guest speakers such as Sean Kelly, a youth pastor at Celebration Church in Jacksonville, Fla. and Josh Glymph of Grace Community Church in Statesboro have also delivered inspiring messages aimed at sharing God’s word with the youth.
This year, the rally will feature the JJ Weeks Band out of Macon, a performance by Ignite Martial Arts Inc., the ECI chorus headed by Mrs. Joy Craft, and guest speaker Sean Kelly. Each performer plans to deliver a special message that will be both beneficial and entertaining to all those who attend. This is a night of fun and worship with no expectations of those attending except to sit back and enjoy the evening.
Please join us for this special event on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 from 6 -9 p.m. Once again, the rally will be held at the ECI Auditorium in Twin City. Everyone who attends will be able to enjoy free drinks, snacks and the opportunity to receive special giveaways. You are in for an awesome experience!
The event is being sponsored by Mill Creek Foundation, local businesses, and individuals in the community who are anxious to make a difference in the lives of our youth.
