Area wide clean-up slated

Swainsboro’s Boy Scout Troop #75 is leading a clean-up drive to pick up unsightly trash along the main roads heading into the city before the Pine Tree Festival. These civic-minded local scouts want to assure visitors coming to our town for the Pine Tree Festival are welcomed to clean right-of-ways as they enter the Pine Tree Capitol of the World.

The scouts are dividing up sections of the city to pick up trash in during the days before the Festival, and they are seeking your help. The scouts are seeking assistance from any civic group, local business, Sunday School Class, school group, and anyone willing to spend an hour or so helping pick up trash along the roadsides to help your city display its best possible welcome mat to our visitors.

The drive will be held from Thursday, April 15, through Saturday, April 17. Several local civic groups and businesses have already signed on to help with this most worthy project. Please join Troop #75 and others to make this a successful campaign! Call Wally Gallian at the Forest-Blade 478-237-9971 during business hours to register for this most worthwhile project.
