Kimberley A. McMullen, 49, of Conyers died on Dec.22, 2009 at Abbey Hospice surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. McMullen was the fourth of five children born to Jane Payne and William Headley of Milledgeville. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend whose primary concern was the welfare of those she loved. She a registered nurse who received her training at Ga. Baptist Hospital, specializing in intensive care of trauma patients. For years after leaving nursing to be a fulltime mother to her baby daughter, she could recall the names of most of the patients she cared for. She approached motherhood with the same passion she held for her profession, and was actively involved in all aspects of her child’s growth and development. She was a master gardener and a favorite pastime was cultivating and enjoying her many plants and flowers. So full of life herself, she loved all living things. Her many adventures in caring for injured animals of all kinds are legendary among family members. Despite an arduous but determined battle with cancer that began in 1997, Kim maintained a positive attitude and was an uplifting influence on all those she came into contact with. Her legacy is the overwhelming love she bestowed on family and friends. She will be missed more than words can express.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, James McMullen; one daughter, Lindsay; one sister, Dawn Muschell of Swainsboro; three brothers, Brad Headley of Swainsboro, Brett Headley of Marietta, and Dean Headley of Orlando, Fla.; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and in-laws.
Memorial donations in Kim’s memory may be made to Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, Ga. Cremation Society of the SOUTH at Eagles Landing. 770-692-1181
