State Farm sponsored a nationwide Friday Night Feats video contest. Candidates selected to go to the next round receive $2500.00 and vie for a chance for three grand prizes. Prizes to be awarded are $15,000 grand prize, first runner up $10,000, and second runner up $5,000. Judges reviewing the top 50 are NFL Hall of Fame Lineman Anthony Munoz, Scout.com recruiting experts Scott Kennedy, Steve Robertson, and Brandon Huffman and SIkids.com Kid Reporter Daniel Radov.

Friday Night Feats is a contest based on high school football and the atmosphere it consists of. The contest accepts home videos of big plays and game changing moments. The videos are viewed and rated on youtube.com. Swainsboro had 5 highlight reels in the contest. Entries for Swainsboro were clips from games Dublin, Laney, Toombs, and MCA. Friday Night Feats selected a clip from the Toombs County game. Contest judges picked the 50 yard touchdown pass from Malcolm Eady to Lynquez Blair at Toombs County. Swainsboro High will receive $2500 and be judged again on December 1, 2009. If Swainsboro is selected in the final stage of the contest the video clip will be 1 of 10 videos in the United States to compete for grand prizes. The rating system on youtube is how the grand prizes will be decided in the Friday Night Feats contest. Fans will log on to youtube.com and rate the videos. Swainsboro Tiger Athletics website will update the results of the top 10 videos. Hopefully Tiger fans will get to rate the video one more time this season.

To make the final 10 videos the judges are looking for “Wow” factor and great high school football atmosphere. Big plays and game changing moments are also part of the criteria. This group of Tigers made it easy to find plays from this season. Many plays left fans awe struck this season. “Our fan base also exhibited great support all season long. We are thankful for the support our community and fans have given us. The support has helped us grow in our school and athletic department. “Stated Scott Roberts Athletic Director.
