DEA cross country season underway

The David Emanuel Academy cross country team began the season on Monday August 24 with a multi-team meet at Bulloch Academy. Four boys and one girl competed at the varsity level while four girls and two boys ran in the JV (middle school) division and five girls ran in the elementary division.

    Hudson Johnson of David Emanuel Academy and Cheyenne Willis of Emanuel County Institute were recently awarded the Chad Ellison Scholarship. The $500 scholarship is awarded to a senior at David Emanuel Academy and Emanuel County Institute annually.

    Gators cruise to win over Eagles

    Bulloch Academy scored early and often and then cruised to a 51-8 win over David Emanuel Academy in the season opener for both teams last Thursday night in Stillmore.     The Swainsboro High School parking lot procedure has been changed this year from the way that both students and staff are so used to.

    Football program alive and kicking

    Football is off to a good start this year. The Tigers beat Washington County 7-6 in a scrimmage game held August 14.
