Bobby Harold Rogers, 68

Mr. Bobby Harold Rogers, age 68, of Kite, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at his home after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Tillman officiating. Interment followed in Anderson Cemetery in Johnson County.

Mr. Rogers was born November 22, 1940, to the late Ernest and Alma Price Rogers. He was a native of Kite, and graduated from Kite High School. He attended Georgia-Alabama Business College and was employed by the Credit Bureau of Macon for several years. He also worked with other businesses in South Georgia including his most recent employer, Hutchinson Auto Mall in Macon.

A member of Turning Point Baptist Church in Swainsboro, Mr. Rogers was a deacon and served as Sunday School Director.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Martha Hill Rogers; one son and his wife, Greg and Julie Rogers of Forsyth; one grandson, Tyler Rogers of Forsyth; one brother and his wife, Glynn and Annette Rogers of Kite and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Turning Point Baptist Church, 1103 Old Wadley Rd, Swainsboro, GA 30401.

Johnson Funeral Home of Swainsboro was ins charge of arrangements.
