Get your lawn chairs and popcorn ready! On Friday night, July 17th, the Forest-Blade and Swainsboro/Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce will offer a special night of free fun for the entire family.
Making its first appearance at the Swainsboro/Emanuel County Recreation Complex on McLeod Bridge Road will be “Movies under the Stars” showing “Night At The Museum,” a 20th Century Fox hit movie. Rating for the movie is PG.
Special Events Network from Atlanta, Ga. will set up a gigantic 30 ft screen with the latest in rear projection technology. According to a spokesman for the company, this type of screen produces a brighter picture and is more enjoyable than front mounted projection devices. The Emanuel County Pageant Association will assist in serving popcorn and drinks at very reasonable rates.
The movie will be shown beginning around twilight, about 8:30 p.m. There is no charge for the event. Parents are asked to accompany their children to the event.
“Since this is a family event, we are asking families to come together. It should be loads of fun and you can’t beat the price,” stated Bill Rogers Jr., president of the local chamber.
“Movie under the Stars” produces over 250 outdoor cinema events each year from Miami, FL, to Richmond, VA. They are exclusive providers of outdoor entertainment for Walt Disney World, Star 94 FM in Atlanta, Orlando JAMZ Radio, Georgia Tech, and 60 other communities, schools, and organizations around the Southeast.
