David Emanuel honored their Senior baseball players and Senior Diamond Girls at their last regular season home game this past Thursday. Each player and Diamond Girl received a signed baseball from the team. The eight Senior boys were Darin Coursey, Jordan Wiley, Hudson Johnson, Noah McGowan, Ashton Lanier, Derek Lindsey, Alex Roberson, and Sanquell Wilson. The Diamond Girls were Katie Lassiter, Allison Coleman, Blythe Morgan, Meagon Mosley.
“This group of seniors really mean a lot to me. I have seen a lot of growth in these young men over the last two years and I am really proud of them. It has been a real pleasure to to teach and coach these guys. I have learned just as much from them as they have from me. I want them to leave David Emanuel Academy with the feeling of accomplishment and the experiences that they may not have gotten some where else. These guys know that no matter what life throws at them that they will always know I will be there for them, as well as the rest of the coaches here at DEA. It has been fun and we still have some more memories to make before the year is up”, Motes commented.
“I would like to give a big thanks to our Diamond Girls for all of there help this year. They really do a lot of behind the scenes work for our team. They really take a lot of pressure off of me during our home games running the scoreboard, concession stand, and spirit stand.
I need to give a special thanks to Katie Lassiter for keeping our score book. She not only did this at our home games but traveled to all the away games as well”, Motes said.
