The Emanuel County Board of Education held a workshop meeting on April 27, 2009.

Funeral Services for Margaret Huffman Burrell, 88, of Dublin were held at 11a.m. Friday, April 24, 2009, at First Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Twin City Cemetery, Twin City at 3:30 p.m., with Dr. Cliff Morris, Rev. Harold Burrell and Dick Burrell will officiating.

Wilcher celebrates 7th birthday with party

Omarion Avante’ Tra’Shad Wilcher, son of Victor and Angela Wilcher, celebrated his 7th birthday on Sunday, April 12 with a party at the Swainsboro/Emanuel County Recreation Department park. He turned 7 years old April 10.

David Emanuel honored their Senior baseball players and Senior Diamond Girls at their last regular season home game this past Thursday. Each player and Diamond Girl received a signed baseball from the team. The eight Senior boys were Darin Coursey, Jordan Wiley, Hudson Johnson, Noah McGowan, Ashton Lanier, Derek Lindsey, Alex Roberson, and Sanquell Wilson.     Fifteen members of the David Emanuel Academy track and field team qualified for the state meet by finishing in the top four at the GISA region 1-A track and field meet last Wednesday at Briarwood Academy in Warrenton.
