Arts Emanuel Festival a success!

The 2008 Arts Emanuel Festival was this past Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26 and 27. Beginning with a performance of “All the Way from Magnolia Springs,” a one-actress play based off of the book Daisy Fay and the Medicine Man by Fannie Flagg and a reception at the Edenfield House Inn, the Festival started off with a bang.

The events on Saturday morning began at 10 a.m. with the Young People’s Parade, which lined up at 9:30 a.m. Featuring the SHS Band of Gold and the community’s children, the parade made the circuit around the Boneyard and Roger Shaw St. Live entertainment ran throughout the day on two stages, including several dance troups and local musicians and the Puppet People from Savannah at 2 p.m. Georgia Rhythms of Lyons and local band Dayfall took the stage later in the afternoon as the children’s activities on the Boneyard wound down.

Between the Arists Market and the children’s activities on the Boneyard, as well as the multiple diplays from community groups such as the Sunshine House, Main Street Cruisers and the Fire Department, a good time was had by all.
