    The first region contest of the 2008 football season produced the desired result for David Emanuel Academy as the Eagles defeated Covenant Academy of Macon 36-26 last Friday night in Stillmore. With the win, DEA improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the region while Covenant dropped to 3-2 and 0-1.

    Arts Emanuel Festival a success!

    The 2008 Arts Emanuel Festival was this past Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26 and 27. Beginning with a performance of “All the Way from Magnolia Springs,” a one-actress play based off of the book Daisy Fay and the Medicine Man by Fannie Flagg and a reception at the Edenfield House Inn, the Festival started off with a bang.

    The following is a list of all DUI citations released from files of Georgia State Patrol for Emanuel County and Swainsboro Police Department this week.

    Those cited for DUI are as follows:

    Georgia State Patrol:

    Joseph R. Nasworthy, 46; 453 Prince Ave.; arrested Sept. 21, 2008 at 12:40 a.m.

    James H. Parker, 37; 529 Gumlog Rd.; arrested Sept. 27, 2008 at 12:09 a.m.

    Curtis F. Wilkerson, 61; 906 Hwy 221


    Davis arrested for entering autos

    Steven Davis, 17, of Swainsboro was arrested Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 for entering automobiles at Dr. Prasad’s office. Due to marvelous work by a victim, Davis was located and was charged by Detective Hall.

    Emanuel County Sheriff’s deputies reported:

    Sept. 22

    A Hwy 192 S man reported that the identified suspect put his hand through a glass door and attacked his wife.

    Vehicle was found on fire on Buck Corbin Rd.

    Deputies assisted GSP with a traffic control at a vehicle accident.

    Deputies were called to Hwy 56 N to the scene of a deer being hit by a vehicle.

    Sept. 22

    A 5th Ave., Twin City man reported that an unknown suspect damaged his vehicle.

    A Louisville, Ga. woman reported she believes workers at the Boneyard put tar on her vehicle.

    A Kathleen Rd. man reported recieving a counterfeit check.

    A Wal-Mart employee reported the identified suspect concealed several items and attempted to leave without paying.
