Interment followed in the church cemetery. She died Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Avalon Health and Rehab in Newnan after an extended illness.

    The Emanuel County teams are raring to go as football season kicks off this weekend. On Thursday, Aug. 28, DEA’s Eagles will face Bulloch County in an away game beginning at 7:30. SHS Tigers will square off against Bleckly County Friday at 7:30 away. That same night, the defending state champion ECI Bulldogs will play Savannah Country Day at home.
