The Emanuel County Board of Commissioners is pleased to receive delivery of the new Caterpillar 140M ditching machine. The machine is used to ditch all the public dirt roads in Emanuel County. The cost of the machine was $214,565.00 and was paid for by using the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). SPLOST continues to reduce property tax burdens on the citizens of Emanuel County by providing funds for capital projects and equipment purchases. The ditching machine is one of many new equipment pieces that SPLOST has provided funds for. The average life of county equipment is five years; therefore SPLOST will continue to be an important source of funds to the citizens of Emanuel County.
