Narcotics seized at Bama Club

According to Emanuel County Sheriff J. Tyson Stephens, on Friday, May 23, 2008 at around 12:15 a.m., sheriff’s deputies were patrolling in the area of New Street when they observed what appeared to be an illegal drug sale in

progress.

Deputies attempted to apprehend the suspect who ran into the nearby project apartments. Deputies Michael Reddish, Juan Yepe and Investigator Stuart Fagler stayed in the area and conducted a walkthrough of the Bama Club in an attempt to locate the suspect when they discovered a large amount of illegal narcotics in plain view. Deputies seized around 1/2 ounce of cocaine and crack cocaine, along with almost 2 ounces of marijuana, all individually packaged for sale, and several dozen ecstasy pills. The drugs were immediately seized. The street value of the drugs is around $2,000.00. The case remains under investigation.
