  • ‘Citizen scientists’ count birds during the holidays

    Spend a day with the birds this holiday season by joining in the 108th National Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count program, an annual hemispheric early-winter bird census. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) is celebrating its 37th year of participation in Christmas Bird Counts and encourages interested citizens to take part as well.

    Religious degrees

    Pictured are Rev. Joe N. Cephus of Swainsboro, Dr. Cedric Lee Cason, Dr. H. Bernard Young and Rev. David Hall. Reverends Hall, Cephus and Young recently earned religious degrees from Cason Theological Institute and Emmanuel Baptist University in Dublin. Rev.     UGA dean’s list

    The following Emanuel County students have been included in the University of Georgia dean’s list for fall semester:

    Richard Lee Pierre and Kristie Nicole Brantley of Swainsboro.

    Students named to the Dean’s List have earned a 3.5 grade point average or higher out of a possible 4.0. Both designations require that students take at least 12 credit hours and receive no unsatisfactory or incomplete grades.
